The Dancer (Part I)
Medium
Sculpture
Following the same concept as "The Dancer (Part II)," this sculpture captures movement through space with a different material: bamboo. It was inspired by my conversation with an Indonesian carpenter who described bamboo as a "material that dances."
"The Dancer (Part I)" was awarded a Gold Key (top 5%) in the 2026 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.
