This is the same concept as "The Dancer (Part II)," but explored with a different material. Chatting with an Indonesian carpenter and hearing him describe bamboo as a "material that dances" prompted this piece.
"The Dancer (Part I)" was awarded a Gold Key (top 5%) in the 2026 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.
